The purpose of the Corgialenios Historical and Folklore Museum of Argostoli is the research, record, study and promotion of the history of Kefalonia, from the 16th century and during all foreign possessions, and after the union with Greece, as the destructive earthquakes of 1953, which eliminated almost completely the particular elements of the material culture. Also, the study and promotion of the folklore of the place and the daily life of people, as it is formed either in the cities or at the periphery. Also, the study of religious art and religious habits of the inhabitants of Kefalonia.
The permanent exhibition of the Corgialenios Folklore Museum is divided in sections:
